Wonderful location
If you have just a short time to spend in Bangkok, the Royal Orchid is an excellent choice for a hotel. All of the rooms have good views of the Chao Phraya River, a remarkably busy thoroughfare filled with exotic looking commercial watercraft. The river transit system has a stop less than 100 yards from the hotel - a great way to get to many of Bangkok’s best tourist sites without fighting the horrible traffic. Hotel staff is very professional and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river is hard to beat.
